[VIDEO] “The path of gold”: from ore to gold bars
Gold mining is a long and laborious task. What process does the precious metal go through starting from the mine to bank vaults and jewelry storefronts?
Gold is extracted from ore using chemical and physical processing, after which it is poured into a fireproof vessel, where gold melts at a temperature of 1064°C. The solidified metal is then cleaned, weighed, and the sample is sent to a laboratory, where it is checked for impurities. But the production cycle does not end there.
